Celebrating the Release of The Ghosts In Our Machine at Lush St-Denis

Last weekend, I attended the premiere of the documentary The Ghosts in our Machine by Liz Marshall. The film portrays human/animal relationships in four different fields: animals used for fashion (fur farms), food (dairy farms), entertainment (aquatic parks and zoos) and research (beagles used as tests subjects). The film follows the journey of photographer Jo-Anne McArthur, who tries to raise awareness and shed light on issues surrounding these practices. It’s beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.

The day after the premiere, on Monday, Lush St-Denis hosted an event in honour of the movie that I went to with my boyfriend. We got to meet the director, Liz Marshall, the protagonist, Jo-Anne McArthur, and Georges Laraque, Deputy Leader of the Green Party. We also got to eat some yummy vegan goodies from Sophie Sucrée. My bf and I made sure to sample ALL the food (Anything for my readers! Hihi.)

To celebrate the movie, Lush is selling "Ghosts in our Machine" Charity Pots. With every purchase of this specific Charity Pot, Lush donates 100% of the price (minus the taxes) to the bimonthly 5-Day Ghost-Free Journey.

When you go to such an event, you have to be mindful of what you wear. Indeed, it would be in pretty bad taste to arrive wearing fur or leather! I put together a little look for you guys, which would be appropriate for the occasion.
